A: There’s a Storm on the Horizon
A brainstorm. On advice about the ingenuity of multi person parties, and from admitted lack of understanding of many needs of organics, URSULA has selected you and a partner (or partners) to go to one of the observatories with food, beds, and recording devices to have a jam session for ideas about missions.

You are not to leave the room until you have some good ones. So get cracking! Start suggesting to one another what the base needs to do.

Or get horribly, horribly sidetracked and possibly a little crazy at being locked up together with the ocean staring at you. Judging.

B: The Abysmal Sea
You’re stranded.

One of the planet’s troublesome signal-interfering pulses has just made your communication devices 100% nonfunctional. No matter how you try to call URSULA for help, she isn’t able to respond. The database strapped to your wrist is just a useless chunk of metal now, leaving you without a useful library of knowledge to survive off. If you were driving any underwater vehicle prior to this point, it’s broken down. And unless you’re a mechanic, it’ll be pretty hard to get it jumpstarted again.

Don’t fret! The communication systems always come online eventually, so if you stay put, it’ll boot back up and give you directions straight back to base so you can finally get home. But can you really afford to stay put? The sunlight’s slowly streaming out of the sky, leaving the waters darker and darker with each passing second. Soon, you won’t be able to see five feet in front of you, and the only warning you’ll get of any approaching threat is through sound, if they even make any.

You have a few choices: take a daring risk and try swimming back to base, but on the off-chance you don’t remember the directions correctly from before you were cut off, you’re going to get even more lost, in the darkness of the night no less. Or, you could huddle in, with any friends if they were unfortunate enough to be with you, and start focusing on getting warm. Because spending the night out here in the vast oceans with the entire world against you is becoming a very, very real possibility.

C: Test Drive Test Dives
The Robotics section of the laboratory needs your help! Whether you were a poor sap who got dragged into it or love working on robots, this is your time to shine!

A few suits need testing to get the kinks out of them. And you know, figure out how they work in general. So be a dear and get in one so the others can watch you flail around and discover how it works.

If you're not into being a crash test dummy, you can help do repair work, analyze blueprints of various underwater vehicles, bring in scrap metal to work with or maybe just try painting the Seamoth neon pink.

D: Hunting Trip
The crew has been given a special mission on Mountain Island. While visiting, you were approached by Aurora survivor and fast-food worker Jenn, owner of the adorable tabby cat Glitter. She asks you to hunt a horrorsloth down for her. This particular horrorsloth has a scar across its face in the form of several cat marks which explains why Jenn wants it dead. It has a personal vendetta against Glitter and has already tried to kill her several times. Jenn has been able to heal the injuries so far but she’s worried that next time she won’t be so lucky.

So Jenn gives you anything you want from fellow survivor and Lead Programmer Naoko’s gun supplies and points you into the dangerous jungle forests where the Catkiller spends its time. Do you have what it takes to avoid poisonous tree pods and deadly Shrubbacks? Can you find your way through the dark and twisted woods? Or will you find yourselves hunted by the very creature you are trying to take out?

Do it for Glitter.

E: THE AURORA
Quiet except for the creaks and rumbles as the ship settles and shifts, the sound of Reapers screaming in the distance every so often, the Aurora is a creepy place to visit for a mission. The remains of those crew members not buried, and the belongings of many others, still litter the ship's halls. It might be nice to remove any skeletons you find.

Of course, their misfortune is your opportunity to catch up on some reading, browse whatever video games they left, get medical supplies and enjoy the comforts they no longer need.

But is it possible the Aurora is haunted? Surely not. Except sometimes you might hear voices from far away. It might just be the people you came on board with, unless they're with you. Or it might be a Cave Crawler knocking over some recording device. You're not too scared to check, right?

F: RAINY SEASON
When it rains, it pours. Rainy days tend to be the worst. Although you can go swimming in them, the intense storms of Iniidae stir up shallower waters making them murky and difficult to see through. And what if lightning hit? No one wants the first death to be lightning. Are you going to risk that? Probably. If you do, take care of yourself and bring a buddy!

But if you're the type to hole up in a storm, either by choice or because you were unlucky enough to be out in it, now is a good chance to get creative with your use of time! Maybe a game of charades will brighten up the rainy day? If you're on the base it might be extra crowded today so get to know your neighbors! If you're on an island, you could build a mud castle! Just don't go stircrazy.

[ He stares down at the paper ball along with Freyr for a long moment. ... Then he stoops to pick it up.

Littering really is wrong. He'd feel bad if he left trash on the floor. Kids, think of the environment.

--But wait, didn't Freyr acknowledge that his drawing is trash?... ]

Are we done yet?

[He did not! He did not do that! Loki turned it into trash by crumpling it and throwing it on the ground!

He was long since distracted by that line of thought though.

But... now what? It was boring and still storming out....]

The storm isn't over yet though. Freyr wants to play! It's boring!

Is that supposed to be my problem?

[ A huff. ]

If you're in a drawing mood, you should use your art to do something productive for the base.

[ Loki does not actually believe anything productive will come of it, but anything to keep Freyr occupied. ]

[He was about to whine and maybe cling but then what Loki said was a good idea. He should lend his abilities to the better of the base. It was a gods job to help and enlighten, right? Yes! He would help!]

That is a good idea! We should definitely help improve the base!

[Why we?]

Freyr will draw a beautiful mural! It should be of Freya and her marvelous cats!

[ Why we indeed... ]

Yes, yes. Knock yourself out.

[ He waves Freyr away in a gentle gesture of you can leave me alone now. Having seen Freyr's art firsthand, he isn't so sure that the mural will be an improvement, but it'll be... something. ]

There are paints in the library. I'm not sure if they'll last for an entire mural, though. How big are you planning on making it?

[Obviously they had to work together, because working together makes all efforts easier! Team work was the key to success!]

Down the length of a hallway. It will start with the cats, and then the chariot, and her and her golden hair trailing behind majestically!

But without her here... Freyr needs a model to fill in.

Don't you two look alike? You can put on a wig and take a picture.

[ he manages to say with a completely straight face ]

Freyr can't do that! That's not how that works! Though Freyr is definitely a good looking guy, he is hardly the beauty that is Freya!

You're the one who can turn into anyone, why don't you do something like that.

[But he cuts in before giving Loki a chance to even reply to that.]

Wait! No! Don't defile her image by impersonating her!

[ Trying to shapeshift into people he knows sounds disturbing. He really doesn't need Freyr ogling him, either... ]

Ah, I have an idea. What if we put you to sleep? You can see the things you desire most in your dreams, after all.

How is Freyr suppose to paint if he's asleep!

[How annoying.

Ah! But inspiration hit at that moment.]

Oh! What if Freyr does a self portrait? Or better yet! Gullinbursti! Surly that will inspire prosperity to the base!

Hahaha! Yes! That is perfect!

Bring the gold paint!

[ A sigh. He has no idea how Freyr's mind works. ]

I can tell you now that we don't have enough gold paint for a mural-sized Gullinbursti. You'll have to make more by grounding up coral and seashells first.

[ Resources are limited, etc. etc. ]

Another option is to think on a smaller scale. How about a statue?

[ Statues are easier to cover up and move out of sight, frankly... ]

Some kind of stone would be needed.... [And a quary and... it sounded like way too much work.] Since there's a lot of metal in the laboratory, Freyr could just make more Mecha Gullinbursti. Gullinbursti 3.0!

Or, since paint is scarce, perhaps a paint making machine! It sounds like a lot of work to ground up paint the old fashioned way. This is the modern age! The digital world! Machines do all that hard stuff for you.

[ ... A paint making machine sounds surprisingly practical. ]

Okay. Let's make a paint machine. There are others around who can benefit from it too. Where do we start?

[ Despite himself, Loki is mildly interested in witnessing Freyr's inventing process. ]

Oh! First we get some paper, and we have to draw out what it would look like, then draw up some plans on how to put it together. After all of that is figured out, then you get metal and cut it up and put it together and of course get all the wiring in.

It should probably have a spout where the paint comes out with a nob....

[He was pulling out some of the paper and drawing it out. It didn't actually take very long for him to make plans, and despite his rather failtastic drawing attempt from earlier, it seemed like blue prints at least looked like blue prints. Sadly if one were to give these to anyone they wouldn't actually make anything.... But Freyr was the one using them so it was fine!]

On to the laboratory!

[ None the wiser, Loki watches Freyr sketch with open interest. He has no idea what the blueprints mean, but. They must make sense?? Loki won't fight it. Freyr's inventions always seem to work... in function, if not always in sense.

He'll accompany Freyr to the laboratory and help cut out a metal frame for the machine. He won't even bother trying to fiddle with wires, though. Freyr's on his own there.

While he waits for some glue to set, Loki leans on a lab table for a break. All this hard work, tracing and cutting basic geometrical shapes. ]

I have to hand it to you, Freyr. I didn't think you could invent anything practical.

[ Good job, good job. ]

All of Freyr's inventions are practical!

[They all had good uses, so that meant they were practical!

As for finishing up the machine, it was rather a mess. He fiddled with wires, but to any actual engineer they were obviously there just to be there. He added some kind moter, but really it was the sort of thing that didn't belong. Near the end he seemed to be struggling with a power supply and stuffed some unknown thing in there he pulled out of something else.

Once all together it looked rather flashy, with a spout and a dial.]

And now the test run!

[He set it to G, for gold, put a bucket under it and pushed the on button. It poured out gold paint. Paint that actually looked like liquified gold. It might actually be liquified gold... who knew? Because really... this thing should not work like this.]

Now we can paint everything gold!

[Or other metallic colours, because the dial seemed to only have metallic colours written on it.]

Loki stares at the might-be-literally gold paint with a stillness reflecting the death of logic surrounding this machine. ]

I'm not sure whether I should praise or destroy this thing.

[ Someone has to preserve the law of conservation of mass, right...? ]

Freyr worked hard on the Paint Dispenser of Divine Application! You can't destroy it. And now there's plenty of paint to make a mural.

[Did those laws really matter? Did they? Freyr didn't think they did! He was a god, gods just... made things happen, right? And if a god made it happen, it was perfectly fine and within the rules of the universe.]

[ In the end, it seems like Loki doesn't care all that much about the law of conservation of mass, because he makes no move toward the machine. ]

Fine, whatever. Let's just go.

[ Why fight. Why fight!! He's starting to understand why Heimdall never bothered trying to rein Freyr in. As they trek off to whatever wall Freyr deems worthy of his divine artistic vision, Loki drops an off-handed comment. ]

You know one of the island watchtowers is named after you?

[Oh stop the presses! He was being honored!? Maybe they should paint that gold and put a mural on it....]

Really!? Oh! Who named it? Freyr will have to give them something in appreciation.

[ Maybe they should...! Loki will be the last person to stop Freyr from ~~vandalizing~~ spicing up his own tower. ]

Couldn't tell you. [ Magnus, maybe. ] Regardless, it must be nice to have a fan in the ranks. Try not to disappoint.

Freyr will definitely have to make sure they get a proper note, and a gift!

[Because that was the right way to treat fans.]

Let us go to this tower and make it a wondrous sight worthy of my name!

Uh huh. Except it's raining, remember? The paint will get all wet.

[ But more importantly, Loki will get wet. Gods may not catch common colds, but it doesn't stop them from being cold cold. ]

[He had completely forgotten. How sad, how cruel. Damn this rain!]

Then when the rain stops?

Fine, when the rain stops.

[ It looks like he's hanging out with Freyr now... What boredom does to a person. He sighs. His shoulders droop. ]
