To be honest… I didn't have much motivation to learn anything useful up until about a year ago. I wouldn't even call it "research for research's sake," what I used to do. I'd get distracted when I was supposed to be doing chores or my homework, and since my mom was so strict, there weren't many other ways to waste time.
This year, though, our teacher forces us to look at the things we learn in a realistic way. We've all become much more well-rounded students, and a lot more practically motivated.
