idk if you've ever seen free!...? but, the way i see yuri and makoto interacting is a little similar to how makoto feels--kind of--to sousuke. like, they're friends because of circumstances so to speak, but there's an edge of 'i don't quite know you too well and i don't want to assume anything's going on.
not to say that makoto doesn't care for yuri! he does, actually, and quite a bit. yuri's one of his first friends here, and although yuri likes to tease makoto, makoto finds it very companionable in a way. he finds it easy to want to give things to yuri or do things for him, because yuri is kind of lowkey about things? just like how makoto is, generally, lowkey about things too... i think this is one of those friendships that can undoubtedly grow to be something really strong and good, over time. ;-;
